Fiona Laing - owner and trainer, has been involved with horses since childhood. Growing up in Scotland, Fiona was first involved in the English disciplines and competed in the traditional gymkhana and pony club circuits. As an adult in both Europe and the USA, Fiona has competed in Equitation, Hunter, Jumper, Dessage and Eventing competition.
With an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and desire to become an ever better horsewoman, Fiona was drawn to the natural horsemanship movement and the unquestionable skills of the 2007 & 2008 Road to the Horse Champion and renowned clinician, Chris Cox. Having trained with Chris at his facility in Texas, Fiona fully utilizes the techniques she has learned in training and teaching both horse and rider.
As a certified Massachusetts riding instructor, Fiona has honed her teaching skills in both English and Western disciplines and looks to impart her years of experience to her students.
Professionally trained in the software industry, Fiona's successful career led her to senior management positions in a number of global high tech companies managing critical product development projects and engineering teams. Fiona has received professional training in coaching and mentoring which has allowed her to teach more effectively and communicate in a clear and rewarding manner with her students.
Skye Stables realizes a dream, combining Fiona's love for horses with her desire to help people enjoy these wonderful animals.
